Charges not recommended in death of would-be robber

JONESBORO — Police in Jonesboro are recommending no criminal charges be filed in the death of a man during a robbery attempt.

Police say Isaac Bailey died after being shot and hit with a baseball bat after he tried to rob another man at gunpoint.

Police say Bailey tried to rob Hunter Hannon at Hannon's home but Hannon grabbed the gun with one hand, then pulled out his own weapon and shot Bailey. Police say a neighbor heard the commotion and went to Hannon's aid, and hit Bailey with the bat as Bailey stood over Hannon and fought for possession of the handgun.

The Jonesboro Sun reported that detective Vic Brooks has submitted a report to prosecutors saying there is insufficient evidence to file criminal charges.
