Blytheville suspect walks in, gives up

BLYTHEVILLE -- A man police sought in an August shooting death surrendered Thursday to the Blytheville Police Department, authorities said.

Ron Redmon, 23, of Blytheville walked in about 9 a.m. and gave up to detectives, said Capt. Scott Adams, commander of the department's Criminal Investigation Division.

Redmon was wanted in the Aug. 28 shooting of Justin Harrison, 31, of Blytheville. Police responded to a motorcycle accident at Ninth Street and Chickasawba Avenue and found Harrison unresponsive. Physicians at a hospital found that Harrison had been shot, and a medical examiner at the state Crime Laboratory ruled his death a homicide.

Redmon became a suspect earlier this week after detectives spoke with witnesses, Adams said.

Redmon was held in the Mississippi County jail in Luxora and will be arraigned on a first-degree murder charge Tuesday, Adams said.
