Brad Bolding is hired as football coach at North Little Rock High School.

2010

DEC. 13

North Little Rock athletic director Kevin Danaher reprimands Bolding for conducting religious activities on campus after 21 players were baptized by two Baptist student ministers during a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting that November.

2013

JANUARY-FEBRUARY

Montez Peterson, the stepfather of K.J. Hill, starts volunteering with the North Little Rock football program.

JAN. 30

North Little Rock School District hires Kelly Rodgers as superintendent.

FEB. 7

Peterson receives a $600 check from Billy Starks of the NLR Athletic Foundation, a nonprofit booster group.

FEB. 8

Receipts show purchases at Hoggs Meat Market and Catering in North Little Rock for hamburgers and hot dogs, and tires from Mayden Tire Co. in Sherwood. The foundation says the receipts show some of what Peterson purchased with the $600 for the football program.

MARCH 4

Hill enrolls at North Little Rock High School.

JULY

North Little Rock promotes Gary Davis, a former assistant football coach under Bolding, to athletic director.

AUG. 9

Gregg Thompson, director of human resources at the North Little Rock District, reprimands Bolding for buying uniforms without authorization.

SEPT. 26

Thompson drafts a memo to Davis and Brian Brown, then North Little Rock High School’s principal, directing them to confer with Bolding about his failure to follow the “chain of command” and identifying corrective actions as well as likely consequences.

NOV. 29

North Little Rock’s football team loses 43-42 in double overtime at Cabot in the Class 7A semifinals, finishing 10-3.

DEC. 17

Thompson drafts a memo to Davis, asking for an investigation into allegations of Bolding’s failure to follow district purchasing procedures.

2014

FEBRUARY-APRIL

NLR Athletic Foundation buys equipment for the football team that the district later says was unauthorized.

MARCH 13

North Little Rock’s boys basketball team beats Springdale 89-81 to win its second consecutive Class 7A state championship.

JUNE 19

Randy Rutherford is hired as North Little Rock High School’s West campus principal.

AUG. 29

Hill orally commits to the University of Arkansas during a ceremony at the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in North Little Rock.

NOV. 28

North Little Rock’s football team loses 42-10 to Bentonville in the Class 7A semifinals at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, finishing 10-2.

NOV. 29

Bolding details on Facebook what he believes are disadvantages his program faces that teams in Northwest Arkansas don’t. Bolding says he removed the post within 15 minutes.

DEC. 15

Bolding receives a reprimand for posting inappropriate information about the North Little Rock School District on Facebook, which the district says “resulted in extensive harm to the public image of the District and its board, staff and community.”

2015

JAN. 5

Thompson writes a memo to Bolding saying he violated purchasing procedures in accepting the NLR Athletic Foundation’s purchases in 2014.

JAN. 6

Thompson reprimands Bolding for walking out of a meeting with Davis and the facilities director.

JAN. 16

Davis drafts a memo recommending Bolding be suspended for 10 days without pay for an “inappropriate” Facebook post and directs Bolding to stop buying equipment through any source other than the school district. Bolding declines to sign the memo.

At the school district’s request, the foundation’s treasurer turns over the nonprofit’s financial information to district officials.

JAN. 18

Hill announces on Twitter that he was no longer committed to Arkansas.

JAN. 19

Bolding interviews with Nashville High School about its head football coaching position, which later went to Henderson State University offensive coordinator Mike Volarvich.

JAN. 20

Bolding receives a five-day suspension with pay from Rodgers.

JAN. 26

North Little Rock School District learns of “potential violations” regarding the use of an ineligible player and says “no current or former district administrators had any prior knowledge of the violations.”

Peterson writes a letter to the school district, saying he received a check for $600 from Starks for expenses for the U.S. Army All-American Combine Camp.

Bolding begins his second fiveday suspension.

JAN. 28

Peterson writes a second letter to the school district, saying that the money wasn’t for camp expenses but rather for expenses incurred while assisting the football team.

JAN. 30

Bolding receives letter of termination under the Arkansas Teacher Fair Dismissal Act. He went 64-30 in eight seasons at North Little Rock.

FEB. 4

Hill signs a national letter of intent to play football at Ohio State University.

FEB. 5

North Little Rock forfeits more than 30 games in football and basketball during the 2013-2014 academic year, including the 2014 Class 7A boys basketball state championship. The school cites the use of an ineligible player.

FEB. 6

Peterson’s last day as a campus supervisor at North Little Rock High School’s West campus.

FEB. 18

David Couch, attorney for Bolding, sends a letter to the Arkansas Activities Association, requesting that the association should conduct its own investigation into whether Hill was ineligible to play sports during the 2013-2014 school year because of a recruiting violation. Couch also asks that the AAA withdraw its recognition of a “self-reported” rules violation made by the North Little Rock School District that resulted in the forfeiture of more than 30 games in football and boys basketball as well as the 2014 Class 7A boys basketball state title.
