Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society

RUSSELLVILLE — The Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society will meet at 7 p.m. at the Dardanelle State Park Visitors Center. Gary Moody, public affairs associate, will present the program, An Update on the Clean Line Energy Transmission Line Project. Moody is a native Arkansan with more than a decade of organizing, political and public-policy experience. Refreshments will be served, and visitors are welcome.

Conway Regional Diabetes Care Group

CONWAY — The Conway Regional Diabetes Care Group will meet from 7-8 p.m. in the Conway Regional Women’s Center Classroom. Judy McConnell, a staff pharmacist at Conway Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, will discuss Ways to Live Well at Every Age. The group meets the last Tuesday of each month. There is no charge, and the public is invited to attend.

Concert Rescheduling

Conway AARP Chapter Meeting

CONWAY— Conway AARP Chapter 796 will meet at 11:15 a.m. at the Ola and John Hawks Senior Wellness and Activity Center, 705 E. Siebenmorgen Road. Rotary Club Pork Butts Sale

HEBER SPRINGS — The Rotary Club of Heber Springs is taking orders for smoked pork butts. The cost is $40, with the meat weighing an average of 7 to 8 pounds. Friends of the Library Book Shop

HEBER SPRINGS — The Friends of the Library Book Shop, 2255 Arkansas 25B N., is open from 3:30-7 p.m. Mondays, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. The shop offers a large selection of books at bargain prices. All proceeds from the shop benefit the libraries in Cleburne County.

Cherokee Bingo

CONWAY — Cherokee Bingo begins at 6:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Heltons Wrecker Service/U-Haul, 710 S. Harkrider St. All proceeds will go to the Helton-Osburn-Spencer Scholarship Fund at the University of Central Arkansas.

Friends of Thomas Team Meeting

CONWAY — Friends of Thomas Team members gather from 10 a.m. to noon the fourth Saturday of the month at the Faulkner County Library. Upcoming sessions, sponsored by the Central Arkansas Model Railroad Club, will include Feb. 28 and March 28. Admission is free, and all families are welcome to attend and discover the tools of the trade and favored brands of trains, as well as gather tips for a home layout or be part of a club layout crew. Softball League Organizational Meeting

RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville Recreation and Parks Department will hold an organizational meeting for Adult Summer Softball at 6:30 p.m. March 2 in the Hughes Community Center. Rummage-Bake Sale

GREERS FERRY — A rummage-bake sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 7 at West Side First Baptist Church, 7025 Greers Ferry Road (Arkansas 92). A variety of baked goods and gently used articles and furniture will be available for purchase. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the church’s Africa mission trip.

Tri Sigma Arkansas State Day

CONWAY —Georgeanna Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a former contestant on Season 4 of ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss, will be the featured speaker for the Tri Sigma Arkansas State Day on March 7 at the University of Central Arkansas. Johnson, who lost 165 pounds, will speak at 11:15 a.m. in the McCastlain Hall Ballroom. Retired Teachers Association Meeting

HEBER SPRINGS — The Cleburne County Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon March 10 at the Rustic Inn. Danny Knight, a trustee of the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System Board, will speak about the 2015 legislative session and bills that pertain to the Teacher Retirement System. Knight has been a teacher, counselor, principal and superintendent. All retired school personnel are invited to attend the meeting.
