Guitar and drum

Walton center acts

• The University of Arkansas Wind Symphony and Concert Band will give a concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday under the direction of Jamal Duncan and Chris Knighten. The program will include A Festival Prelude by Alfred Reed, the Arkansas premiere of We Seven by Derek M. Jenkins, W. Francis McBeth's arrangement of the "Intermezzo" from Act III of Manon Lescaut by Giacomo Puccini and Nophachai Cholthitchanta and Robert Umiker, clarinet soloists, in the Konzertstuck No. 1 in f minor, Op. 113 (1832) by Felix Mendelssohn. • The University of Arkansas Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The program will include the world premiere of Robert Mueller's City of Giants and works by Ryan George, Joseph Turrin, Warren Benson, Percy Grainger, Michael Daugherty, Matthew Schoendorff, John Mackey, David Maslanka and Jonathan Newman. Nothin' Fancy

Bluegrass band Nothin' Fancy -- Mike Andes, Mitchell Davis, Jesse Smathers, Chris Sexton and Tony Shorter -- performs at 7 p.m. Monday at the Collins Theatre, 120 W. Emerson St., Paragould, part of radio station KASU-FM, 91.9's Bluegrass Monday series. The station will pass the hat to pay the group; suggested donation is $5 per person. Bard Ball brewing

The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre will hold its annual Bard Ball fundraiser, this year named "The Taming of the Brew," 7 p.m. Saturday at The Venue, 1069 Markham St., Conway.

The event will feature "big-tasting" beers, wine, a dinner buffet, silent and live auctions, music by Shakespeare Theatre Music Director Mark Binns and a preview of songs from the musical Fiddler on the Roof, part of the theater's 2015 June season along with William Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor and The Merchant of Venice.

Exhibit and lecture

The University of the Ozarks will display an exhibit of work by Shinnecock Indian artist and filmmaker Courtney M. Leonard, titled "Breach: Log 15," which the artist describes as "an exploration and documentation of historical ties to water, whale, and material sustainability," Monday-March 20 in the Stephens Gallery, Walton Fine Arts Center, on the university's Clarksville campus.

As part of the university's 2014-15 Walton Arts & Ideas Series, Leonard will discuss her work as an artist and filmmaker and the current exhibit as part of a lecture at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Rogers Conference Center.

Marine documentary

The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History, 503 E. Ninth St., Little Rock, will screen the PBS documentary The Marines of Montford Point: Fighting for Freedom, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The film, hosted and narrated by Louis Gossett Jr., profiles the first black U.S. Marine Corps recruits, beginning with their experiences at Montford Point, a segregated boot camp in the heart of the Jim Crow South. Wedding exhibit

"A Victorian Wedding," a look at the wedding traditions that began during the Victorian period, will be on display Saturday-April 26 at the Rogers Historical Museum, 322 S. Second St., Rogers.

Mockingbird auditions

The Royal Players will hold auditions for To Kill a Mockingbird, the original version of Christopher Sergel's stage adaptation of the novel by Harper Lee, 1 p.m. March 7 and 7 p.m. March 9 at the Royal Theatre, 111 S. Market St., Benton. Director Frank O. Butler will cast principal characters and supporting players, age 10 and up, via cold readings from the script.
