FAYETTEVILLE -- Arkansas defensive end Trey Flowers tied for second among defensive linemen in the broad jump Sunday at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.

Flowers' jump of 10 feet, 1 inch tied with Mississippi State's Preston Smith and Oregon State's Obum Gwacham behind the 10-7 of UCLA's Owamagbe Odighizuwa.

Flowers, of Huntsville, Ala., ranked fifth among defensive linemen with a time of 12.03 seconds in the 60-yard shuttle, and was 11th with 28 reps at 225 pounds on the bench press. His time of 4.93 ranked just outside the top 15 at his position.

Arkansas linebacker Martrell Spaight tied for eighth among linebackers with 25 reps on the bench press. Spaight, the SEC's tackles leader last fall, tied Maryland's Yannik Cudjoe-Virgil with 25 reps, 10 behind position leader Vic Beasley of Clemson.

Spaight, of North Little Rock, tied for 13th with a vertical jump of 35 inches and ranked among the leaders with a broad jump of 10 feet. Spaight's time of 4.88 in the 40-yard dash did not rank among the leaders.

Arkansas defensive tackle Darius Philon was timed at 5.0 seconds in the 40-yard dash and did 26 reps on the bench press.

Central Arkansas receiver Dezmin Lewis ran the 40 in 4.58 seconds Saturday, edging out Harding University receiver Donatella Luckett (4.65) in that event. Luckett was tied for fifth with 17 reps on the bench press, while Lewis (16) was tied for 10th.

Arkansas tight end AJ Derby, who is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery that kept him out of the Razorbacks' final two games, was unable to run or do any other on-field testing aside from completing 15 reps on the bench press during his stay.

Derby underwent medical testing and interviewing while at the combine, which concludes with on-field testing for defensive backs today.
