FORT SMITH NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE
Location: The River Trail at Belle Point begins at the gate at Parker Avenue and South Third Street.

Length: Sidewalks at the fort, around Belle Point and along the river will take you on a 1.42-mile loop. Want more? Follow the spur to Riverfront Park just to the north for an additional 1.5 miles.
Main attractions: A well-maintained, family-friendly history-lesson hike with visitor center, river views and interpretive signs.
Hazards: None.
Dog, bike, tyke friendly? Great for dogs and kids. Bikes are allowed, but it’s not really a biking destination.
