Brandon Boling, 20, of Alabam township has been arrested in the beating death of Michael Wayne Fawcett, 46, of Huntsville, according to a news release from the Madison County sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office responded to a medical call Friday, and officers were dispatched to to a residence in the Alabam area, about 5 miles northeast of Huntsville.
At the residence, officers found Fawcett had been "severely beaten," according to the release from Sgt. Russell Alberts. Fawcett was transported to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, where he was pronounced dead on arrival at 1:10 a.m. Saturday.
Matt Durrett, the prosecutor for Arkansas' 4th Judicial District, said Boling hasn't been formally charged yet.
An investigation is underway, according to the release.
Boling was being held Monday in the Washington County jail in Fayetteville.
