State's Civil War commission adds 16 podcasts to website

Sixteen podcasts on the state's Civil War history are the newest additions to the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission's website, Chairman Tom Dupree has announced.

The podcasts were created in cooperation with the School of Mass Communication at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

The podcasts can be accessed at arkansascivilwar150.com, under the Research-Education tab.

Among the podcasts are offerings on the Battle of Fayetteville, by Tom DeBlack of Arkansas Tech University; the difficulties older men faced during the Civil War, by Rebecca Howard of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville; Arkansas' Civil War newspapers, by Sonny Rhodes of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock; the Third Arkansas Infantry of the Confederate states, by Danny Honnoll of the Arkansas Civil War Heritage Trails Foundation; and the 1864 battles at Okolona, Elkins' Ferry, Prairie D'Ane and Marks' Mills, by Mark Christ of the Arkansas Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission.
