Bentonville library to celebrate Black History Saturday

BENTONVILLE -- The library will host a Black History Month Storytime on Saturday.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. in the Children's Read Aloud Area, according to a news release. Families are invited for stories, music and crafts. The library is at 405 S. Main St.

Members of the Northwest Arkansas Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority will be present.

"The Colors of Us," a large format picture book written and illustrated by Karen Katz, will be read. Children can participate in a sing-a-long to E.B. White's picture book version of "This Little Light of Mine" and create a group rhythm stick accompaniment to Langston Hugh's poem "Drums." Children can also craft together a hand print unity wreath that will hang in the library.

For more information on the event, visit the library calendar at www.bentonvillelibrary.org or call 479-271-6816.
