Charles Davis, 58, is in the Poinsett County jail in Harrisburg in lieu of $250,000 bond after being charged Monday. Poinsett County Sheriff Larry Mills said Davis was charged with fatally shooting Jeff Foster, 60.

Deputies responded to a call at 4:30 p.m. Saturday along Arkansas 18 near the Pitts community in the northwest corner of the county after neighbors heard a gunshot. When they arrived, they found Foster's body in a camper trailer parked near the highway.

They also found Davis at the scene and arrested him, Mills said. He would not say whether deputies had found a motive for the shooting, saying the case was still under investigation.

The sheriff said authorities sent Foster's body the state Crime Laboratory for an autopsy.

Davis is to be arraigned in Poinsett County Circuit Court on March 30.
