Murder-suicide is suspected in the deaths of two people found Tuesday at a home about 3 miles east of Harrison, according to a Wednesday news release from the Boone County sheriff's office.
The dead were Daniel Jacob Peebles, 26, and Haley Elizabeth Brown, 21.
The bodies were found at 5:30 p.m. at a location on Floyd Lee Road by a parent who went there to pick up an infant cared for by Brown.
The infant and Brown's 2-month-old baby were found inside the home unharmed, Sheriff Mike Moore said.
Preliminary investigation indicated that Peebles and Brown died from gunshot wounds.
"The investigation has also indicated that Peebles and Brown had a strained relationship and that the deaths appear to be the result of a murder-suicide," according to the news release.
An investigation is underway, and the bodies have been sent to the medical examiner's office.
