Friends of Thomas Team Meeting

CONWAY — Friends of Thomas Team members gather from 10 a.m. to noon the fourth Saturday of the month at the Faulkner County Library. Upcoming sessions, sponsored by the Central Arkansas Model Railroad Club, will include this Saturday and March 28. Admission is free, and all families are welcome to attend and discover the tools of the trade and favored brands of trains, as well as gather tips for a home layout or be part of a club layout crew. Children 5-12 years old may become Junior Engineers. A parent, grandparent or other adult must accompany each child and serve as his or her coach. Preregister for the sessions at admin@trains.buzz. The club also offers two Train Open House events for the public at the McGee Center per year.

Softball League Organizational Meeting

RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville Recreation and Parks Department will hold an organizational meeting for Adult Summer Softball at 6:30 p.m. in the Hughes Community Center. Anyone who wants to enter a team in the league is asked to have a representative at this meeting. Registration will begin Tuesday and end at 5 p.m. March 13. The Hammerstone Auditions

CONWAY — The Lantern Theatre and the Conway Community Arts Association will hold auditions for The Hammerstone, by Jon Tuttle, at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Lantern Theatre, 1021 Van Ronkle St. The cast calls for four men and four women, ages 20 to 80. The audition will consist of cold readings from the play. The rehearsal schedule will likely be five nights per week. Performance dates will be April 17-19 and 23-26. First Wednesday Ladies’ Lunch Break

CONWAY — The First Wednesday Ladies’ Lunch Break will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the Second Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at Dave Ward Drive and Farris Road. Rotary Club Pork Butts Sale

HEBER SPRINGS — The Rotary Club of Heber Springs is taking orders for smoked pork butts. The cost is $40, with the meat weighing an average of 7 to 8 pounds. Friends of the Library Book Shop

HEBER SPRINGS — The Friends of the Library Book Shop, 2255 Arkansas 25B N., is open from 3:30-7 p.m. Mondays, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. The shop offers a large selection of books at bargain prices. All proceeds from the shop benefit the libraries in Cleburne County.

Cherokee Bingo

CONWAY — Cherokee Bingo begins at 6:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Helton’s Wrecker Service/U-Haul, 710 S. Harkrider St. All proceeds will go to the Helton-Osburn-Spencer Scholarship Fund at the University of Central Arkansas.

Knights of Columbus Annual Fish Fry

MORRILTON – The Morrilton Knights of Columbus will hold its annual fish fry March 6 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 808 N. Cedar St. Carryout meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4-8 p.m., and dine-in meals will be served from 5-8 p.m. The cost is $10 for all carryout meals. Rummage-Bake Sale

GREERS FERRY — A rummage-bake sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 7 at West Side First Baptist Church, 7025 Greers Ferry Road (Arkansas 92). A variety of baked goods and gently used articles and furniture will be available for purchase. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the church’s mission trip to Africa.

CONWAY — Georgeanna Johnson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a former contestant on Season 4 of ABC’s Extreme Weight Loss, will be the featured speaker for the Tri Sigma Arkansas State Day on March 7 at the University of Central Arkansas. Johnson, who lost 165 pounds, will speak at 11:15 a.m. in the McCastlain Hall Ballroom. HEBER SPRINGS — The Cleburne County Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon March 10 at the Rustic Inn. Danny Knight, a trustee of the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System Board, will speak about the 2015 legislative session and bills that pertain to the Teacher Retirement System. Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Banquet

PERRYVILLE — The Perry County Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m. March 20 in the Perry County Fairgrounds Multipurpose Building, 124 Hickory St. The keynote speaker will be 2nd Congressional District U.S. Rep. French Hill of Little Rock. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for silent-auction bidding. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. The event will also include a live auction, door prizes and entertainment. St. Joseph’s Day Dinner

CENTER RIDGE — The Spring St. Joseph’s Day Dinner will be held from 3:30-8 p.m. March 21 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in the Catholic Point community. “The Original” Homemade Italian Sausage and Spaghetti Supper is all you can eat, and the cost is $15 for adults and $6 for children. Kids younger than 3 may eat free. To-go plates will be available at 4 p.m. There will be a Kountry Store featuring homemade jams, jellies, breads and sauces, as well as homemade pasta. A Mass will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
