Fayetteville seeks historic preservation nominees

FAYETTEVILLE -- The city is accepting nominations for individuals, projects and organizations demonstrating an outstanding commitment to historic preservation.

Awards will be announced in May for best preservation practices and outstanding service in historic preservation, according to a news release.

To make a nomination, contact Jesse Fulcher, senior planner, at 479-575-8308 or jfulcher@fayetteville-ar.gov.

The deadline for nominations is March 27.

Last year's winners were:

• The Butt Family: Deepwood House, 4697 W. Finger Road

• Bob and Patty Besom: Tharp House, 15 N. West Ave.

• Tiffany King and John Cooper: "Oak Cemetery: A Forgotten Place" documentary

• Frank Sharp: Mount Kessler Reserve

• Kate Johnson: Clinton House Museum, 930 W. Clinton Drive
