New Eagle Scouts

Mitchell Harvey, 14, is the son of Susan and David Harvey of North Little Rock. He is a member of Troop 18 at First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. For his Eagle Project, Harvey, along with 29 volunteers, planted 800 native hardwood seedlings at Toltec Mounds Archaeological State Park.

Drake Hilliard, 18, is the son of Everett and Brenda Hilliard of Mayflower. He is a member of Troop 604 at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. Hilliard built flower beds at Cedar Heights Baptist Church in Morgan for his Eagle Project. He and a team of fellow Scouts worked to dig, place and plant flowers and plants for the beds. They also placed stones and mulch in the church's new and existing flower beds.

Forrest Larkowski, 18, is the son of Jerry and Sonya Larkowski and Ann Pollard of Little Rock. He is a member of Troop 7 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Little Rock. For his Eagle Project, Larkowski constructed a 21-foot ramp to make Morison Hall at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral wheelchair accessible.

Jordan Sanford, 16, is the son of Mark and Beverly Sanford of Arkadelphia. He is a member of Troop 24 at First Methodist Church of Arkadelphia. He built six benches for the Arkadelphia parks and recreation fields for his Eagle Project. These benches allow players and coaches to sit and rest during the games.

Ian Lawrence, 16, is the son of Dr. Larry and Paula Lawrence of Jonesboro. He is a member of Troop 6 from Jonesboro. He created packets containing community disaster awareness information for his Eagle Project. These packets were distributed to nearly 500 homes in the Jonesboro area and help residents be better prepared for natural disasters.

Steven Wright, 17, is the son of Larry and Renee Wright of Little Rock. He is a member of Troop 30 at Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Little Rock. He designed and constructed two large handicap-accessible benches and tables at Conner Park in Little Rock for his Eagle Project. These tables and benches provide a place to enjoy the park in comfort and a clear view of the pond.

Nick Stow, 17, is the son of Ray and Jill Stow of Conway. He is a member of Troop 71 at the Faulkner County Senior Wellness and Activity Center in Conway. For his Eagle Project, he upgraded the landscaping at the Faulkner County Senior Wellness and Activity Center.

Noah Smith, 13, is the son of Glen and Barbara Smith of Jonesboro. He is a member of Troop 210 in Jonesboro. For his Eagle Project, he built a prayer garden at 1st Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He took an unused space and turned it into an attractive area to be used for everything from private meditation to public meetings and classes.

Joey Whitledge, 13, is the son of Darrell and Sharon Whitledge of Jacksonville. He is a member of Troop 770 at the 1st Christian Church of Sherwood. For his Eagle Project, he organized and orchestrated the painting of four rooms and a hallway in a small Baptist Church.

David Price, 18, is the son of John Price of Fayetteville and Paula Price of Sherwood. He is a member of Troop 427 at Immaculate Conception Church in North Little Rock. For his Eagle Project, he renovated a series of flower beds at St. Edward Church.

Grant Pearson, 17, is the son of Glenn and Kim Pearson of Maumelle. He is a member of Troop 295 at First United Methodist Church of Maumelle. For his Eagle Project, he led volunteers in planting 1,000 daffodil bulbs around the three crosses on the hill next to First United Methodist Church of Maumelle and also restriped the church parking lot.
