LR man demands dog, fires shots at ex-girlfriend's mother

A Little Rock man was arrested early Friday morning after he demanded a dog from his ex-girlfriend's mother then fired shots at her, police said.

Censi Childs, 46, was standing outside her Little Rock apartment about 2:25 a.m. when Isaac Kanamwangi, 27, drove up and demanded a dog from inside Childs' home, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Childs told police Kanamwangi fired three shots at her from inside his vehicle before she went back insider her apartment, leaving some of her dogs outside, the report states.

When Childs went back outside to retrieve the dogs, police said, her daughter's ex-boyfriend fired two more shots at her.

When officers arrived at Childs' home, they found three .25-caliber shell casings in the road near the apartment building and found Kanamwangi 30 minutes later when he drove by Childs' apartment again, according to the report.

Police conducted a traffic stop and found a black .25-caliber Titan handgun under the passenger seat of the vehicle, the report states.

Kanamwangi was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He was being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
