Harding loses two to St. Cloud State

Harding (5-7) lost the first two games of a five-game series Thursday afternoon to St. Cloud State (2-0) 1-0 and 4-3.

The series was originally scheduled to continue Friday, but that game has been cancelled. The teams will resume the series Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at noon.

St. Cloud starting pitcher Reese Gregory held Harding to three hits and struck out eight in the first game. John Chapman had two of Harding’s three hits.

In the second game, Zac Stewart had two hits to lead the Bisons. He pitched two hitless innings of relief but took the loss after St. Cloud’s Jackson Goplen reached on a two-base error, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a throwing error.

Henderson State’s series at Southeastern Oklahoma State, which was originally scheduled for today and Saturday, has been changed to a doubleheader Saturday at noon and a single game Sunday at noon.
