White County water billing probe to remain in-house

SEARCY — Southeast White County Water Association will investigate utility billing issues rather than hire a certified public accounting firm to do the job.

The Daily Citizen reported that the board will not hire a CPA firm to investigate glitches with RVS Software's utility billing system concerning credit card payments for sewer collections, even though they voted to make the hire Feb.2.

Association manager Diana Woodle said that residents were not affected by the RVS glitches, but several municipalities that the association serves could be owed funds.

Attorney Heartsill Ragon said that several CPAs told the association that they could not give a definite price for the investigation if they did not know how long it would take. Ragon said the estimated prices that expensive.
