Davis named to Public Service Commission

Gov. Mike Beebe has appointed his Deputy Chief of Staff Lamar Davis to the state Public Service Commission to fill the vacancy left by Chairman Colette Honorable, who was confirmed to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, his office said in a statement Tuesday.

Honorable resigned from her position after the U.S. Senate confirmed her to the regulatory agency seat on Dec. 16.

Davis, 43, served as deputy chief of staff through both of Beebe’s gubernatorial terms. Davis’ term will expire Jan. 14, 2017.

Honorable also served as the panel's chairman, but Beebe decided against naming a new chairman with only one week left in his term.

Gov.-elect Asa Hutchinson will name a chairman after he is inaugurated next week.
