Second thoughts

He's not lying about his love for the Lions

Defensive end Jason Jones and the Detroit Lions disappointed their fans, including Dave Morian of Center Line, Mich., who got a tattoo of the Vince Lombardi Trophy with the Lions as the 2015 world champions. The Detroit Lions' loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday in the NFC wild-card round not only meant that the Lions will go another season without playing in the Super Bowl, but a fan's tattoo was deemed worthless.

Dave Morian, a Lions fan who lives in Center Line, Mich., got a tattoo last summer that had the image of the Vince Lombardi Trophy with the Lions as the 2015 world champions.

The Lions lost 24-21 to the Cowboys after leading 17-7 at halftime.

Moiran summed up his feelings to WDIV-TV in Detroit on Wednesday.

"Disappointment, you know, slow, and then anger and then just kind of in disbelief, I guess," Morian said.

Fortunately for Morian, Elite Tattoo in Center Line planned ahead.

John Motyka of Elite Tattoo told the station that the fonts on Morian's tattoo were designed in a way that they could be altered as the years go on.

"Eventually they are going to win the championship," Motyka said. The numbers "can easily be changed to 16, and hopefully that's all he has to do, just one alteration and then Dave will be a hero next year."

Morian will get a touch-up job in the next week or so.

"I'm going to get 2015 x'ed out, then get an arrow below it where it will be 2016," he said.

What a burger

Wisconsin residents know their food.

The Green Bay Packers food provider Delaware North and the chefs at Lambeau Field are offering a 3 1/2-pound "Big Game Burger" to fans for the Packers' NFC Divisonal Playoff game Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

The burger includes 1/2 pound of ground venison, 1/2 pound of ground bacon and 1/2 pound of certified angus beef. It is served on a "Big Mother" pretzel bun and topped with crispy fried onions, jalapeno smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato (six slices), pickles, secret sauce and a heaping helping of housemade jalapeno cheese (jalapenos, multiple cheddars and BBQ sauce).

The cost of the burger? $20.

"And they say everything is bigger in Texas. Pssh," CBSSports.com NFL writer Will Brinson wrote.

Shocker

Former Angels outfielder Darin Erstad received one Baseball Hall of Fame vote Tuesday, to the surprise of many baseball fans and Erstad himself.

Erstad, who batted .282 with 124 home runs and 699 RBI in 14 seasons, was a two-time All-Star and won three Gold Gloves. He was part of the Angels' 2002 World Series championship team.

The person who voted for Erstad has not been identified, but Erstad had a solid reaction to the one vote.

The satirical Twitter account Fake Bo Pelini (@FauxPelini) tweeted to Erstad, "This is garbage let's ask for a recount."

Erstad: "I wonder what that one person was thinking."

Erstad is familiar with the real Bo Pelini. He is the current baseball coach at the University of Nebraska. Pelini was fired as Nebraska's football coach last month.
