Oaklawn pushes back live-racing season start

The Oaklawn horse racing track in Hot Springs has canceled its live racing for this weekend because of “arctic temperatures.”

The park said Thursday morning on social media that it will now open its 2015 racing season Jan. 15. The Oaklawn casino is open for gambling, the company said.

Oaklawn President Charles J. Cella said in December that the track is waiving its $2 general admission fee this season. There's still a $2 parking fee and reserved seating is still $2.50 on weekdays, $4.50 on weekends.
