Memphis man dies in shooting at apartments

Memphis police are investigating the Tuesday night shooting death of a 42-year-old man.

Officers responded about 9:50 p.m. to a shooting at the Prescott Place Apartments, 1732 Morlye Place, where they found Ventura Tura suffering from a gunshot wound, Memphis Police Department spokesman Sgt. Karen Rudolph said in a statement.

Tura was taken to Regional One, where he later died, Rudolph said.

Police could offer no information on a suspect at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
