LR Hall rolls over Sheridan

The Sheridan Yellowjackets did not have that bad of a shooting night against the Little Rock Hall Warriors on Friday night.

Turnovers ultimately did the visitors in.

The Yellowjackets (4-10, 0-3 6A-South) had more turnovers (10) than shots (five) in the first quarter as the Warriors (10-6, 2-1) took control and cruised to a 70-34 victory at George Cirks Arena.

"We came out with a lot of energy and a lot of determination and as the game went on I think we kinda let up a little but we did come out aggressive," said Hall Coach Jon Coleman. "Our goal was to cause turnovers because we knew defensively they were going to pack it in the paint so we wanted to make sure we could get some easy buckets."

The Warriors raced out to a 21-4 lead in the first quarter and looked like they were headed to a blowout victory, but Sheridan turned things around in the second.

After shooting 2 of 5 to go with its first-quarter turnovers, Sheridan had just 2 turnovers and hit 6 of 12 shots in the second quarter.

Hall led 35-20 at halftime.

The Yellowjackets made 13 of 27 shots but finished with 27 turnovers in the contest. They had nine more miscues in the third quarter as the Warriors built a 51-29 lead going into the final quarter.

Sheridan had 5 turnovers, 5 shots and 5 points in the fourth and Hall hit the sportsmanship rule of a 35-point lead with 4:24 left in the game.

Antonio Edwards led Hall with 14 points. Eric Dailey added 13 points and Drelane Walters added 11.

"Considering the youth that we have we are progressing,'' said Coleman. "This was our first home game of the season and our goal was to play a lot of road games and to and played a lot of tough competition so we would be more seasoned during the conference play. I think we are progressing OK."

Sheridan was led by Jesse Feathers' 8 points.
