Ribbon-cutting set for student center at Ozarka College

MELBOURNE — A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned at Ozarka College for the school's new student services center on the Melbourne campus.

The Ozarka College board of trustees has issued about $2.9 million in revenue bonds to finance construction of the facility that is supported by sales tax revenue from the citizens of Melbourne.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Jan. 29. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in September 2013, and just over one year later the student services center is ready to open.

The student services center is intended to serve as a hub of campus activity and provide a central location for meetings and special events for community groups and students. It will also offer businesses and organizations access to leading-edge technology and conference facilities.
