Jazzy benefit
Astrid Solorzano of TV station KTHV, Channel 11, will host an evening of "Live Jazz Performed by the Guido Ritchie Project, Poetry, Comedy & Wine Tastings" today at the Studio Theatre, 320 W. Seventh St., Little Rock, a fundraiser for the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
The event starts with a happy hour at 5:30 p.m. then a meal of turkey, stuffing, homemade cranberry relish and assorted fruits with cheese, paired with a tasting of six wines. Bridal history
"Here Comes the Bride," exploring changes in courtship, marriage, wedding ritual and wedding dress from the 1870s through today, opens Saturday at the Rogers Historical Museum, 322 S. Ballet auditions
Western Arkansas Ballet will hold open auditions for its production of excerpts from P.I. Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty, 10 a.m. Saturday at the ballet studios, 4701 Grand Ave., Fort Smith.
Candidates should be at least 8 years old, have two or more years of dance experience and wear appropriate dance clothing. There are also parts available for adults with limited dance experience.
The schedule: ages 8-10, registration 10-10:30 a.m., audition 10:30 a.m.-noon; 11 and older, registration 12:30-1 p.m., audition 1-2:30 p.m. There is a $10 audition fee. Performance dates are April 25-26. Call (479) 785-0152 or visit the website, waballet.org.
