Boxer Jermain Taylor in custody, officials say

Boxer Jermain Taylor is back in custody after a circuit judge issued an order to revoke his bond in an August shooting on Tuesday.

Pulaski County sheriff’s office spokesman Capt. Carl Minden said Taylor came into the Pulaski County jail about 2:30 p.m.

The boxer surrendered himself at Roosevelt Road and Brown Street about 2:25 p.m.

Taylor, 36, was arrested Monday after purportedly threatening a family of five at gunpoint near downtown Little Rock, ArkansasOnline previously reported.

He was arraigned Tuesday in District Court on five counts of aggravated assault, three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and one count of marijuana possession.

Taylor was accused of shooting his cousin Tyrone Dawayne Hinton, 41, on Aug. 27. He pleaded innocent to charges of first-degree battery and first-degree terroristic threatening stemming from that incident in December.
