Portions of the state may see light snow mixed with rain late Thursday into Friday morning, forecasters say.

Temperatures near the surface are expected to be too warm for any snow accumulations that would affect travel conditions, National Weather Service Science and Operations Officer Chris Buonanno said in an email.

The storm system moving into the state Thursday came from Texas and New Mexico where it did produce rain mixed with snow, National Weather Service Meteorologist Jeff Hood said Wednesday.

As of 9 a.m. Thursday, temperatures in western Arkansas dropped to the mid and upper 30s where rain mixed and changed over to snow, according to the National Weather Service's website.
