MovieStyle: Target practice

Over the four-day period culminating on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, American Sniper nabbed a record-breaking $105 million at the box office, the best opening on a January weekend ever.

It also ignited a culture war and picked up six Oscar nominations. In this week’s MovieStyle, our man Dan Lybarger talks to screenwriter Jason Hall about the movie, and why it's a more person than political project. Lybarger also reviews the latest Jennifer Lopez movie, The Boy Next Door, while our correspondent Piers Marchant previews the Sundance Film Festival, where's he's on assignment.

There's also Karen Martin on the week’s notable home video releases, and we finally wrap up our series of columns in which Arkansas film community notables list their favorite movies of 2014.
