2 attempt to rob LR Schlotzsky’s

Police are investigating after two men attempted to rob a Little Rock deli on Wednesday night.

About 7:27 p.m., Schlotzsky’s Deli employee Sherodick Strong saw two men walking toward the front door of the business on the restaurant's security tapes, police say.

One man appeared to be carrying an AK-47, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

The two men tried to enter the restaurant at 11815 Mara Lynn Road, but the door was locked. After they tried to open the locked door, they fled northeast toward Mara Lynn Road.

April Gilliaman was sitting at a table in the restaurant when she witnessed the men trying to open the door, and she said one of the men had a gun in his waistband.

Both men were black and were wearing blue gloves. One of the men was wearing a beige shirt, black jacket, blue jeans and black shoes. The other man was last seen wearing a black hoodie, red shirt, black sweat pants and black shoes, according to the report.

Two men held an employee at gunpoint and robbed the business Jan. 11.
