SEARCY -- White County authorities are investigating the shooting death of a Kensett man earlier this week.
Carlos Ernesto Montalvan, 22, was found fatally shot Tuesday evening after someone called 911 to report gunshots fired at a home on Wayne Walker Road in Romance, White County sheriff's Deputy Heather Zomant said in a news release Wednesday.
No one had been arrested or charged in the death as of Thursday, said Prosecuting Attorney Rebecca Reed of the 17th Judicial Circuit, which includes White County.
"Detectives with the White County Sheriff's Department are actively investigating the shooting surrounding [Montalvan's] death," Zomant said.
