Officers responded to the house about 11:40 p.m. Thursday where George Moore, 63, told police that he, his wife and grandson were inside the house when they heard the shots, according to a report. Moore showed officers seven bullet holes in the house and bullet holes in two vehicles outside the house, police said.

Moore and his wife, Marcela, 57, told officers they believed the shooting stemmed from the April shooting death of another grandson, Bernard Sherrod, which they thought was gang-related, police said.

Witnesses said a gray-colored sport utility vehicle with tinted windows, possibly a 2005 to 2008 Cadillac or GMC, was seen in the area immediately after the shooting, police reported.
