A Fayetteville woman was killed Sunday when the pickup she was driving veered off a Washington County road and hit a tree, authorities said.
It happened about 8 a.m. as 48-year-old Michelle J. Chickillo drove a 2001 Ford pickup west on Round Mountain Road east of Fayetteville, Arkansas State Police said.
According to a report, the pickup hit a tree after drifting off the east side of the road. Chickillo suffered fatal injuries.
Conditions at the time were said to be overcast and wet.
The death was the 24th in a traffic crash in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary reports.
