Man charged with battery after butcher knife fight

A Little Rock man has been charged with second-degree battery after he purportedly wounded a man with a butcher knife, police say.

Cedar Hill told police that Willie Watson cut him in the face about 2 a.m. Sunday at 5816 Butler Road, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

Hill, 54, told police he was in his bedroom talking to his wife when Watson, 35, came home intoxicated and punched him before cutting his face and lip with a butcher knife.

Hill said Watson was jealous that his girlfriend was in the home with him, and the men started fighting, the report states.

Watson told police he was "minding his own business before Hill and his girlfriend began messing with him,” according to the report.

Watson said his girlfriend and Hill pulled a knife on him, and he cut Hill with the butcher knife in self-defense.

Watson was charged with second-degree battery and is currently in the Pulaski County jail with bail not yet set.
