Body found in PB bar's parking lot

PINE BLUFF -- Police sent the body of a man found dead at a Pine Bluff bar Monday to the state crime laboratory to determine the cause of death, authorities said.

Employees of the Pit Stop sports bar at 6000 Sheridan Road in northwest Pine Bluff called police after finding the body in a van parked on the bar's lot, said Sgt. David E. De Foor of the Pine Bluff Police Department.

The man, described as a white, 39-year-old, had been dead for at least several hours, De Foor said. The man was last seen alive at the Pit Stop at 6 p.m. Sunday, he said. The van was a vehicle from where the man worked, the sergeant said.

Police did not identify the man, pending notification of the next of kin.

De Foor said the body had no wounds or other trauma, and police did not suspect foul play.
