Arkansas’ football recruit added another major target Sunday when cornerback Ryan Pulley orally committed to the Hogs.

Pulley, 6-1, 195 pounds, 4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Cape Coral (Fla.) Island Coast, arrived in Fayetteville on Friday for an official visit and told Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema he wanted to be a Razorback before leaving.

He picked Hogs over scholarship offers from Michigan State, Louisville, Arizona, Indiana, South Florida and others.

“I had a lot of fun,” Pulley said. “I got to meet a lot of new people, found out the coaches are really good. So I really liked the visit.”

He was hosted by Arkansas running back Alex Collins, a fellow Floridian, for the weekend trip.

“He told me to make the right decision for me,” Pulley said. “I told him I got him and to keep in touch.”

Pulley, whose lead recruiter at Arkansas is defensive coordinator Robb Smith, recorded 24 unassisted tackles, 5 assists, 2 interceptions and 16 pass breakups as a senior. He also had 25 receptions for 410 yards and 7 touchdowns.

“They want to utilize me as a lockdown corner,” Pulley said. “Get me on the best receiver in the game and take him out of the game.”

The visit to Fayetteville also allowed Pulley to experience his first airplane ride that included some turbulence.

“When the plane started shaking, I started looking out the window,” he said.

Under Bielema, the Hogs landed 15 prospects from Florida in the 2013, 2014 and 2015 signing classes. Pulley said that helped his decision to be a Hog.

“They’re from the same state I’m from,” Pulley said. “They feel where I’m coming from all the time. We’ve got the same language, lingo and all of that. That’s good.”

Pulley is the 13th oral commitment for Arkansas’ 2015 class. The Hogs also have eight signees and now have 21 members in the class.
