Vernon Hargreaves was hired as Arkansas' linebackers coach on Jan. 20, 2015 after spending two seasons at Houston.

Arkansas received one commitment from one of its four official visitors over the weekend, and linebacker James King is another prospect who could commit in the near future.

Cornerback Ryan Pulley announced his commitment to the Hogs on Sunday.

King, 6-2, 200 pounds, 4.45 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Miami Washington, was hosted by Arkansas offensive lineman Denver Kirkland, who also played at Washington.

"We use to hang out at Booker T. and hang out here just the same having fun," said King, who also was hosted by Razorbacks safety De'Andre Coley.

He called the visit "wonderful."

"They gave me everything I wanted -- the connection. They made it more as a home, made it real," King said.

King, who has committed to Florida Atlantic, also has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Utah, Marshall, South Florida and others. He said he felt comfortable in Fayetteville after seeing several other Florida natives on the Razorbacks' roster.

"The Florida players, they understand and they are making it easy for me to actually understand about Arkansas," King said. "They came here and they are being successful here, so why not me do the same?"

He called his parents while on the trip and gave a glowing review of Arkansas.

"I told them it is a wonderful experience and you have to actually be here yourself to see what it is about," King said, "not just hear what other people say."

King also said he has been impressed by Vernon Hargreaves, Arkansas' new linebackers coach.

"I like the way he is set up, the structure and as far as playing time, you just have to show what you can do," said King, who's being recruited to play Will linebacker.

Hargreaves coached linebackers at the University of Miami in 1998-2005 and helped the Hurricanes win a national championship in 2001.

"When he coached at Miami, seven or eight linebackers made it to the [NFL]," King said.

King had 61 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 3 quarterback hurries, 1 interceptions, 3 pass breakups and a recovered fumble while helping lead the Tornadoes to their third consecutive Class 4A state title.

He's scheduled to officially visit Florida Atlantic this weekend and may take a midweek trip to South Florida or Marshall but didn't rule out making a decision soon.

Hanging out

Junction City defensive end JaMario Bell orally committed to Arkansas in August and visited the Hogs during the season. He made a return trip to Fayetteville for an official visit over the weekend.

"The visit went well this weekend," Bell said. "I got to meet even more players and coaches. I got to talk to Coach (Bret) Bielema a little bit and got to love the program a little bit more, too."

Bell, 6-6, 250, 4.7, is one of the more intriguing commitments the Hogs have for the 2015 class because of his limited time in the weight room. He plays basketball for Junction City, participates in track and field while also playing spring and summer basketball for the Arkansas Wings.

He said the Arkansas coaching staff is eager to get him on campus.

"They said they couldn't wait for signing day," Bell said. "They're just waiting for me to get up there. They want to turn me into a monster."

Bell recorded 76 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 7 sacks, a recovered fumble and an interception while helping Junction City to the Class 2A state title this season.

"It ended up the way I wanted it to," said Bell, who was accompanied by his mother, Helen. "We won our third state championship in a row. We broke a lot of records individually and it was just a great season.

Former El Dorado and Arkansas defensive lineman Bijhon Jackson hosted Bell on Friday and defensive end Deatrich Wise hosted him Saturday.

"The first night, we went and hung out at Santos [Ramirez's] house," Bell said. "I hung out with Will Gragg last night after I hung out with Deatrich a little bit."

Picks Gators

Defensive end Jabari Zuniga orally committed to Florida on Monday night after considering Arkansas and North Carolina State.

Zuniga, 6-3, 260, 4.8, of Marietta (Ga.) Sprayberry, made an official visit to Arkansas over the weekend. He was committed to the Wolfpack before switching to the Gators.

He arrived at Arkansas on Friday with his mother for an official visit and left with a lot to think about.

"The visit was great. I mean, I like the coaching staff. My favorite part was probably was the football facilities," Zuniga said. "It's a great family atmosphere."

Zuniga has scholarship offers from about 20 schools, including Arkansas, North Carolina State, Florida, Minnesota, Kansas State, Iowa State and Illinois.

He said he likes the direction Coach Bret Bielema is taking the program and added the trip helped Arkansas' chances for his signature.

"Definitely because I really didn't see Arkansas being like this ... this, I guess, family oriented," he said. "Coach B knows what he's doing."

His mother was impressed with the visit.

"My mom loved it," Zuniga said. "She liked the academic aspect of it and she also liked the facilities as well."
