3 sentenced to more than 32 years for drug trafficking

FAYETTEVILLE — An Arkansas prosecutor says three people have been sentenced to a combined total of more than 32 years in federal prison for drug-trafficking offenses.

U.S. Attorney Connor Eldridge said 27-year-old Leonel Padilla of Springdale was sentenced to more than seven years in prison followed by four years of supervised release for distribution of methamphetamine.

Eldridge said also sentenced were 49-year-old Andres Diaz of Barstow, Calif., who received 15 years followed by three years of supervised release for distribution of methamphetamine, and 47-year-old Jonni Diaz of Barstow, Calif., who was sentenced to 10 years followed by three years of supervised release for aiding and abetting the distribution of methamphetamine.

Eldridge said investigators identified them as purported suspects during investigations into the distribution of large quantities of methamphetamine in Northwest Arkansas.
