A driver died after his vehicle ran off a Little Rock street Wednesday night and hit some trees, authorities said.
Arkansas State Police say George Spann, 59, of Little Rock was driving a 2004 Chevrolet east on 65th Street west of Arch Street shortly after 10:10 p.m. when the vehicle veered off the road. The Chevrolet then hit multiple trees, police said.
Spann was taken to UAMS Medical Center, where he died.
It wasn't clear what caused the vehicle to leave the road. Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.
The death was the 29th in a traffic crash so far this year and one of two reported in the state Wednesday, according to preliminary figures.
