LITTLE ROCK — A bond hearing is scheduled for an Arkansas pharmacist who has been arrested on charges of distributing controlled drugs illegally.
U.S. Attorney Chris Thyer said Christopher Watson, a Perry County pharmacist, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of illegal distribution of a controlled substance. A bond hearing is scheduled for Watson on Thursday afternoon.
Court records do not indicate Watson has entered a plea to the charge. His attorney, Frank Shaw, did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.
An affidavit filed by investigators says Watson was given a prescription that was fabricated by Drug Enforcement Administration agents. Watson acknowledged it was forged and gave the agents specific instructions on how to make the prescription look valid, according to the affidavit.
Watson allegedly then filled the fabricated prescription with Hydrocodone and Xanax tablets.
