State police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting death in Perry County.
William J. Bates, 31, was shot dead at the home of brothers Dalton and J.D. Goodman, which is two miles west of Perryville along Arkansas 60, the Arkansas State Police said in a statement Thursday.
Perry County sheriff’s deputies responded about 6:20 p.m. to a report of a disturbance at the Goodman home, authorities said. There, one person was taken into custody, and charges are pending as the investigation progresses, state police said.
