U.S. 270 in Hot Springs to undergo lane closures

Pavement research will require alternating lane closures on U.S. 270 in Garland County next week, state highway officials said.

A contractor will be taking core samples from the highway, also known as Albert Pike Road, between Treasure Isle Road and Arkansas 227/Mountain Pine Road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, weather permitting, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

The closures will start on the westbound lane at Arkansas 227 and continue west to Treasure Isle, and then the work will switch to the eastbound lane, the department said.

The project will be done in preparation for widening U.S. 270 between Arkansas 227 and the Ouachita River, highway officials say.
