Fayetteville's Seven Hills Homeless Center seeks executive director

FAYETTEVILLE -- Seven Hills Homeless Center is seeking a new executive director.

Jon Woodward will step down after nearly seven years with the nonprofit organization.

According to a Wednesday news release, Woodward has been running Seven Hills from Florida since 2011, when his wife accepted a job in Tampa. Woodward will stay on as a consultant until a new executive director is hired.

"On behalf of the directors, staff, clients and supporters of 7Hills, I want to express our deep appreciation for the commitment, energy and enthusiasm Jon Woodward has invested as our executive director," Kevin Fitzpatrick, president of the Seven Hills board, said in the release.

The organization runs a day center at 1555 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and the Walker Family Residential Community near Huntsville and Happy Hollow roads. Its administrative offices are in the E.J. Ball building, 112 W. Center St.

The day center served about 4,200 people in 2014, according to Woodward.

The organization spent $400,000 in December 2013 for 2.3 acres at 1832 S. School Ave. Seven Hills officials intended to build a facility on the property, but after drawing down the center's endowment in October to pay overdue payroll taxes from 2013 and 2014, the project was delayed.

A job description for the executive director position can be found on Seven Hills' website, 7hillscenter.org.

Woodward was paid $90,774 in 2012 according to 2013 filings with the Internal Revenue Service.
