BENTON COUNTY

Bella Vista United Lutheran Church, 100 Cooper Road, sponsors its JAM ministry in the annual Souper Bowl fundraiser following the church service Sunday. Additionally, the youth serve a soup lunch after the service.

Bella Vista Christian Church, 103 Riordan Road, begins a new season of Life Groups this week. These small Bible studies are held weekly around the city and church.

The junior and senior high students will attend the concert of Andy Mineo, a Christian hip-hop music artist, Feb. 7 at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Mo. Ticket information is available on the church website.

Engage Bible Study for sixth- through 12th-graders begins at 6 p.m. Feb. 8.

The church celebrates its 15th anniversary Feb. 15. A potluck lunch with birthday cake follows the service that day.

WASHINGTON COUNTY

First United Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville, 695 Calvin St., presents two programs on immigration as a part of its Wonderful Wednesday series. The League of Women Voters and the American Association of University Women sponsor these. Elizabeth Lee Young, associate professor and director of the immigration law clinic at teh University of Arkansas, speaks on immigration and the President’s initiatives at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The movie, “No Sanctuary: Big Business and Family Detention,” will be shown at 6 p.m. Feb. 11. A dinner is served at 5 p.m. both dates.

The church hosts a workshop for church musicians from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb.

  1. Michael Morgan, seminary musician at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Ga., is the featured speaker. His topics include music and the art of workshop and “Singing Our Lives Through the Psalms.” Admission is free, and lunch will be served, but reservations are required.

Covenant Church (Presbyterian Church in America), 4511 Wedington Drive, Fayetteville, holds its annual Missions Conference from Sunday to Feb. 8. The conference begins with worship services at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Stephen Atkison of Christian Witness to Israel speaking.

Robinson Avenue Church of Christ in Springdale, 1506 W. Robinson Ave., begins a 13-session DivorceCare support program Feb. 8. Sessions meet from 4 to 5:30 p.m. each Sunday. DivorceCare for Kids, a support program for children ages 5 to 12, runs from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. each Wednesday, beginning this week.
