Officers responded about 7:53 p.m. to 7710 Morris Drive, where Jose Quiroz said he was walking toward his door when two men approached him. One had a silver revolver and demanded money, according to a police report. Quiroz gave them his wallet, then they removed his necklace and watch and took change from his pockets, the report states.

The robbers ran to a nearby sedan occupied by a third person, who drove away with them.

The holdup occurred outside a neighborhood where police increased patrols this week in response to an outbreak of similar robberies. Tuesday in the area, seven people were robbed at gunpoint outside their homes in a two-hour span.

Investigators believe those holdups are connected. They were working to determine whether Thursday's robbery was related, police spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said.

No arrests had been made late Friday.

Woods was being held late Thursday in the Pulaski County jail with bail set at $35,000.

Wallets of 2 taken in driveway holdup

Two Little Rock residents unloading groceries outside their house were robbed at gunpoint Thursday evening, police said.

Juan Barrera and Teresa Ramirez had just returned from the grocery store to their residence in the 4000 block of Ludwig Street about 7:25 p.m. Thursday and were gathering the groceries when a maroon-colored Ford Crown Victoria turned around in a nearby driveway, police reported.

Barrera told police the car stopped at Ludwig and West 44th streets and two black men got out and demanded money. One robber, wearing a white shirt and black pants, pointed a silver handgun at Barrera while stealing his wallet, police reported. Ramirez also had her wallet stolen.
