Arkansas Department of Correction officials are searching for an inmate who escaped from a work-release assignment in Pine Bluff on Thursday morning.
Department of Correction spokesman Cathy Frye said Jason Satterfield, 44, stole a 1990 white Ford F-350 truck from Whitten Concrete Co. in Pine Bluff. About 8:30 a.m., Satterfield took $190 from the cash register and left in the truck, Frye said. The license plate number on the truck is B295571.
Satterfield was serving a 15-year sentence for a hot check violation out of White County.
He is described as a 5-foot-9, 169 pounds, with a scar on the front of his head.
