A 19-year-old pedestrian from Malvern was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening on westbound Interstate 30, authorities said.
It happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. near the 118 mile marker in Benton.
Arkansas State Police say Austin Walker was walking south across the highway when a westbound 2002 Ford hit him. Walker died from his injuries.
Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.
The death was the 240th in a traffic crash in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
