TRANSITIONS

Tuesday was the last night of service for Acadia, 3000 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock. "It's time to move on after a successful 16-year run," says restaurant manager Gregory Robinson. Chef James Hale posted this on the restaurant's Facebook page: "I'd like to thank all of you for the tremendous amount of support we've had for a decade and a half. And to the people of the historic neighborhood of Hillcrest I am eternally grateful, I simply would never have gotten this far without the support of folks that make supporting small, independent establishments a top priority. And it's the reason places like ours will always thrive in one of the best neighborhoods in Arkansas."

David's Burgers' Maumelle outlet, 102 Country Club Parkway, opened June 25. Hours are 10:45 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 10:45 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday. The listed phone number, though we couldn't get anybody to answer it, is (501) 734-8668; the website is davidsburgers.com.

We reported a few months ago that Greg Seaton Jr. of the White Pig Inn on East Broadway in North Little Rock had bought Hardin's Market, 15235 U.S. 165, Scott, at an April 29 auction. We now know that the new restaurant will be named Seaton's Scott Place, with a target opening date of mid- to late July. The Tuesday-Saturday lunch/dinner menu will be similar menu to that at the White Pig Inn -- primarily barbecue, sandwiches and burgers -- "with some additions," Seaton says, including fish and weekend dinner steaks. Seaton has also filed an application with the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Division for an on-premise beer and wine permit. Seaton said earlier he'd be keeping Hardin's phone number: (501) 961-1100. We'll keep you posted.

And speaking of barbecue, competition cook Jay L. Rutz of Cabot has set up a new food truck, JayBirds Smokin' Guns BBQ, at 11100 Arkansas 5 in Cabot. Rutz says he serves "the best of the South and Southwest" -- Cajun "sweet kick," Memphis sweet, Texas beef and Carolina mustard, plus smoked sausage, pulled pork and St. Louis-style ribs. A quarter-pound small sandwich is $3.50; a combo with side and bottle of water is $5. Rutz has a screened-in smokehouse and picnic tables under the carport awning if you're of a mind to "dine in." Hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. The phone number is (501) 626-2616.

Because the Independence Day holiday falls on a Saturday this year, the Little Rock Farmers Market will instead set up 7 a.m.-3 p.m. today in the River Market pavilions behind Ottenheimer Market Hall, 400 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock. The farmers market will resume its regular Tuesday and Saturday hours next week.

Neighborhood nano-brewery Stone's Throw Brewing, East Ninth and Rock streets, Little Rock, will be celebrating its second anniversary Saturday with the release of rare beers made during the past year, including the annual Anniversary Stout (which replicates the first beer brewed at Stone's Throw downtown Little Rock location) and "an extremely limited supply" of Big Dam Horn O'Plenty Imperial Oktoberfest, Lil Peaty's Wee Heavy Scotch Ale and Chipotle Porter aged in a Rock Town Distillery Bourbon barrel. Southern Salt Co. will set up its food truck outside for the occasion. Admission is free. (Beer and food, of course, will cost you.) And they'll mark the anniversary of the opening of the brewery taproom with the second annual Block on Rock Birthday Bash, 3-10 p.m. Aug. 1, with food trucks and the products of other Arkansas breweries and distilleries, vendors and music by the Big Dam Horns and Cindy Woolf & Mark Bilyeu. Admission -- $3 in advance, $5 at the door -- and Stone's Throw sales will benefit Preserve Arkansas; proceeds from guest breweries will help support the Arkansas Brewers Guild. Taproom hours are 4-9 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, 4-10 p.m. Friday, noon-10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday, with a different food truck parked outside each day. Visit stonesthrowbeer.com.

The moving target is now the middle or the end of July for the relocation of Jerky's Spicy Chicken and More to 521 Center St., Little Rock (where its next-door neighbor is EJ's Eats & Drinks), from 2501 S. Arch St., Little Rock. Owner John Walker Jr. says he'll be adding frozen daiquiris and other frozen drinks to his "Jamerican" (Jamaican/American) menu and expanding the restaurant hours to reflect that: He'll be open 10:30 a.m.-9 or 10 p.m., later on weekends. The phone number will remain the same -- (501) 246-3096 -- and so will the website, jerkysspicychickenandmore.com. We'll keep you posted.

Nashville Rockin Grill, a bar, grill and music venue in a former art studio at 10832 Maumelle Blvd., North Little Rock, next door to Morningside Bagels, didn't quite meet its original February target opening date, and general manager Jimmy Pearce isn't giving out a current target. But "We're really close," he says. He then anticipates a lengthy soft-opening period, as long as a couple of months, while the establishment operates on a condensed menu. Hours tentatively will be 11 a.m.-midnight Monday-Saturday. And there's now a working telephone number: (501) 812-0095.

Damgoode Pies in the River Market (see the review elsewhere on these pages) is having a launch party, 5 p.m.-close today for its new beer brand, Damgoode Brews. House Brews will be $3 and they'll be serving up samples from Damgoode's coming "Snacks" menu. So far, House Brews are only available at the River Market location, where Damgoode, if you will remember, acquired a microbrewery when it moved into the space previously occupied by Boscos, but they're working on a distributor that will make it possible for other Damgoode Pies locations to sell it. Call (501) 353-1724, email mailczar@damgoode.com or visit DGPies.com.

Rock Town Distillery, 1216 E.
