The Pops on the River celebration for Saturday will continue as planned, despite rain in the forecast the holiday weekend, event organizers say.
The festival, presented by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and sponsored by Landers FIAT, will cancel only in the event of a threat of lightning.
Event officials said Friday that the fireworks shooter and the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra have both confirmed that they will participate in Pops on the River in the rain.
The celebration, which starts at noon and ends at 10 p.m., will feature a car show, vendors, an Arkansas Symphony Orchestra concert and a fireworks display.
