Capt. Kevin Holt, spokesman for the El Dorado Police Department, said the boy was found in the yard of a home on Louisiana Avenue. He had been hit by a stray bullet from a disturbance on the corner of Cook and Louisiana streets in which numerous gunshots were fired.

The identity of the boy has not been released by police.

Holt said officers were notified of the gunshots about 6:45 p.m. and know the firing began outside, but they are not sure whether it moved to a vehicle or whether those involved ran away on foot.

By Friday afternoon, two men had surrendered in connection with the shooting. Holt said more arrests are possible, and the investigation is ongoing.

Patrick Rogers, 24, surrendered to police around 12:15 a.m. Friday. Shaquille Green, 20, surrendered around 12:45 p.m. Holt said the men are not friends and were most likely shooting at each other.

Both men are charged with capital murder, terroristic act, aggravated assault, possession of firearms by certain persons, and enhanced penalties for offenses committed in the presence of a child and for engaging in violent criminal group activity.
