Two dead in LR apartment shooting

Police are investigating a Saturday morning shooting in Little Rock that left two dead.

Officers responded about 2:19 a.m. Saturday to Briarwood Apartments at 801 S. Rodney Parham Road and found Terrance Slaughter suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Slaughter was transported to Baptist Health Medical Center, where he died during surgery, police say. A second shooting victim, Kevin Brown, arrived at Baptist Health Medical Center shortly after and died from his injuries.

Detectives found a handgun, several shell casings from two different weapons, a plastic bag of marijuana and a prescription bottle of unknown pills in the apartment parking lot, police say.

A witness told police he drove Brown to the hospital after Brown was shot by a man the witness identified as Slaughter. The witness said Brown returned fire and shot the man, who he believes to be Slaughter.

Police say they believe Brown and Slaughter shot each other, but an investigation is ongoing.
